Doubts in Start Schema & ESS

THi Experts,

Can you plz clear below doubts;

1) Is there SID's concept in Start Schema? How Dimention Table connected with fact table?

2) In Extended Start Schema (ESS) Master data tables connected with Dimentions tables through SID's, then how Dimentions tables connected with Fact table?
